2 Hosting with STRATO
This website is hosted by STRATO GmbH, Otto-Ostrowski-Straße 7, 10249 Berlin, Germany. When you visit, the web server processes your IP address, time, requested address, transferred data volume, request status, browser and device information and, where provided, the referring page. Where password protection is enabled, the credentials needed for access control are also processed.
The purpose is secure and reliable website delivery. The legal basis is Article 6(1)(f) GDPR; our legitimate interests are operational security, availability and protection against misuse. STRATO processes hosting data as a processor under Article 28 GDPR on the basis of the data processing agreement.
STRATO states that visitor IP addresses are retained for up to seven days to detect and prevent attacks. Where included in the hosting package, downloadable access logs cover the last six weeks and error logs the last five days. These are different types of logs and retention periods. We do not maintain an additional personal visitor profile.
3 Processing agreement and locations
The STRATO agreement provides for processing on documented instructions, confidentiality, technical and organisational safeguards and assistance with data subject rights. Subprocessors may be used within the agreed contractual scope. Processing depends on the hosting and communication services actually used.
Under the agreement, processing generally takes place predominantly in the European Union or European Economic Area. Where a service requires a transfer to a third country, the agreement requires compliance with Articles 44 et seq. GDPR. You can request information about processors and the relevant safeguards from info@smartsensio.de; additional information is available in the STRATO documents linked below.
4 Contact and non-binding enquiries
For form enquiries we store your name and email address. Company, telephone, message, product selection, quantity, application, offline duration and existing Cloud Connector are optional. We also store the timestamp, reference and selected form language. If you contact us by email or phone, we process the details and communication content you provide.
We use these details to respond, advise you and prepare quotations. Where processing prepares or performs a contract with you at your request, Article 6(1)(b) GDPR applies. For general business communications and company contacts, Article 6(1)(f) GDPR applies; our interest is proper handling of business enquiries. This does not grant marketing consent. Recipients are authorised persons handling the enquiry and the hosting and communications providers as necessary.
Only a name and valid email address are required for the form; without them it cannot be submitted. An enquiry is not an order or cloud subscription. No automatic confirmation email is sent.
Form submissions are stored on the STRATO webspace in a location protected against public access. An internal notification is handed to the hosting package’s mail service for info@smartsensio.de. The email address in your enquiry is used as the reply address, not as the mail server’s sender address.
5 Retention and deletion
Unsuccessful enquiries are generally deleted no later than six months after processing is completed. Data is needed while an enquiry is ongoing. If a contract results, necessary data is processed for performance and statutory retention. Where legal retention obligations or the establishment, exercise or defence of legal claims require retention, only the necessary data is retained for the relevant period, with processing restricted to that purpose. Article 6(1)(c) GDPR applies to statutory retention and Article 6(1)(f) GDPR to necessary legal claims.
After deletion, backup and technical system copies may remain until overwritten in the relevant backup cycle or as required by law. They are not used for routine enquiry handling. At the end of processing services, the STRATO agreement provides for deletion or return of personal data on instruction, subject to statutory or contractual retention obligations.
6 Protection against abusive submissions
The form validates entries and uses a hidden field to deter spam. Repeated submissions are limited using a short-lived identifier derived from the connection IP address and calendar day with a secret server key. The IP address is not stored in plain text in this protection record. The identifier is pseudonymous data. The purpose and legitimate interest under Article 6(1)(f) GDPR are protection and availability of the communication channel.
Protection records older than 24 hours are deleted during the next form processing operation or scheduled data cleanup. Without such an operation, they can remain until the next cleanup. These protection records are separate from the hosting provider’s technical logs.
7 Cookies and external content
This website uses no advertising or analytics services and sets no cookies. Language selection uses neither cookies nor local browser storage; it is determined by the page address. Images, scripts and stylesheets are loaded from our own webspace. System fonts are available on your device. Linked external websites are only accessed when clicked.
8 Sensor cloud and illustrative dashboard
The cloud and Studio are provided by Disruptive Technologies. This website contains only an illustrative dashboard with example data and is not connected to any customer installation. The enquiry form’s application code does not automatically send data to Disruptive Technologies. Separate contractual and privacy information applies to any separately agreed cloud access.
9 Your data protection rights
Subject to statutory conditions, you have rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction and portability under Articles 15–20 GDPR. You may withdraw consent at any time for the future without affecting prior lawfulness. Contact info@smartsensio.de.
Where processing is based on Article 6(1)(f) GDPR, you may object under Article 21 GDPR on grounds relating to your particular situation. We then stop processing unless compelling legitimate grounds or the establishment, exercise or defence of legal claims justify continuation. You may object to direct marketing at any time.
You may complain to a data protection authority. The Berlin Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information can be contacted at Alt-Moabit 59–61, 10555 Berlin, Germany; phone +49 30 13889-0; email mailbox@datenschutz-berlin.de. You may also complain to another competent authority.
10 Automated decisions
This website does not make automated decisions with legal or similarly significant effects within Article 22 GDPR. Technical input and spam checks are distinct from such decisions.
