Sensor → Cloud Connector → Cloud

Measure temperature.
Connect data.

Both variants transmit readings by radio to a Cloud Connector within reach, which forwards them to the cloud. The Data Backfill variant also stores locally during interruptions.

Two variants. Your measurement task.

Measure while connected.
Or store locally as well.

Both sensor variants use the same path: Sensor → Cloud Connector → Cloud. Additional local recording distinguishes the logger with Data Backfill.

Data Backfill · a closer look

Stored on site.
In the cloud later.

Our logger variant stores readings locally when there is no connection. They are automatically transmitted after reconnection.

01 / SET UP

Prepare your measurement.

Match the Data Backfill variant, measurement interval, planned duration and subsequent cloud access to your task.

02 / STORE LOCALLY

Record offline too.

When no connector is within reach, readings initially remain in the sensor's memory. Storage capacity is limited.

Local readings · no live access
03 / BACKFILL

Connect. Synchronise.

Once a stable connection is restored, stored readings are automatically synchronised via the Cloud Connector.

Before an offline measurement

Plan carefully.
Allow complete backfill.

Match memory and duration.

Up to 100,000 data points for your recording. We help match the measurement interval and storage duration to your application; the oldest readings are overwritten when storage is full.

Plan for reconnection.

Once a stable connection is restored, the logger automatically sends stored readings to the cloud via the Cloud Connector.

Clarify cloud access and timing.

A sensor subscription and cloud access are part of the solution. Your tailored quote includes the configuration and ongoing costs.

Whether you need ongoing monitoring or planned offline recording, we help you choose suitable equipment.

The key answers

Store. Transmit. Understand.

Which two sensor variants does SmartSensio offer?

A temperature sensor for continuous transmission or a temperature logger with additional Data Backfill. Both transmit to the cloud via a Cloud Connector.

How does continuous transmission work?

The sensor sends readings wirelessly to the Cloud Connector. View temperature trends in Studio and keep track of your measuring points.

Can the logger record without a Cloud Connector within reach?

Yes, with Data Backfill. Setup and subsequent synchronisation require a Cloud Connector, an internet connection and an active sensor subscription.

How do stored readings reach the cloud later?

Automatically after a stable connection is restored via a Cloud Connector. Full synchronisation takes time.

How long does synchronisation take?

This depends on the amount of data, settings and connection. The logger must remain reliably connected for full synchronisation.

Are live readings or remote alarms available while offline?

No. Without a connection, current cloud readings and remote alerts based on them are unavailable. The history can be reviewed after synchronisation.

How accurate are timestamps during offline measurements?

Typically 1%, depending on temperature and time offline. Suitability must be checked for time-critical analysis.

Do I need a subscription for the sensor and cloud?

Yes. Both sensor variants require a paid sensor subscription. The cellular/Ethernet connector also requires a connector subscription. Details are included in your quote.
